Ethnic genetic interest

Someone commented on ethnic genetic interest.* They seemed to be unaware of Frank Salter’s work. For those interested, I linked to two of his papers, which together give a nice introduction to his vision (i.e. universal nationalism):**

Salter, 2008. Misunderstandings of Kin Selection with Reference to the Immortality of Values and the Delay in Quantifying Ethnic Kinship

Salter, 2004. Is Ethnic Globalism Adaptive for Americans?

Salter, 2002. Ethnic Genetic Interests: Is It Adaptive to Resist Replacement Migration?

…..
*In a previous semi-coherent post, I discussed the rationality of ethnic genetic interest (i.e. being evolutionarily rational). My basic conclusion was that, in this post-Nietzschean world, everything and nothing is rational, because there is no meta-rational. Therefore, ethnic genetic interest is rational but only in a trivial way.

**I say Salter’s vision (as opposed to Salter’s hypothesis or theory) because Salter presents a world-view. And world-views can never be true or representative in the empirical sense. To the extent that one can demonstrate their truth, one must demonstrate their internal consistency and faithfulness to lived being. With regards to internal consistency, Salter does demonstrate that ethnic-genetic interest is implied by individual-genetic interest; as such, it would be irrational for a person to not value the former if they valued the latter (and were aware of the mathematical relationship between the two).

Thanks for the recommendations; will check them out. First link seems to be broken though (salterglobalism.pdf).

Fantastic links. This is exactly what I was looking for. I might even buy his book, “On Genetic Interests: Family, Ethnicity, and Humanity in an Age of Mass Migration.”

I added another for you: Salter, 2008. Misunderstandings of Kin Selection with Reference to the Immortality of Values and the Delay in Quantifying Ethnic Kinship

It’ll likely get deleted sooner or later.
